Practices don't have to show info

12th February 2008

The General Practitioners Council has told GP surgeries that they do not have to provide data relating to their opening hours and appointment times.

The GPA's comments come after a letter was sent out to doctors by NHS Director General of Commissioning Mark Britnell, where he requested that all PCTs should audit appointments. The GPA took legal advice before stating that GPs did not have to hand over the information.
