Practices to sign up for IT choice

23rd January 2008

GP practices in England who want to retain control over which IT system they use have been urged to sign up to GP Systems of Choice (GPSoC) by the end of March.

Practices may risk losing the freedom to choose if they fail to register, according to NHS Connecting for Health. The GP Choice website created by five of the IT National User Groups has been launched to ensure that practices remain fully informed about the options open to them. GPSoC pays for software licences and computer upgrades for systems not provided by local services providers.
