Pratchett has Alzheimer's

13th December 2007

Fantasy author Terry Pratchett has informed his fans that he has been diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's disease.

Pratchett, who turns 60 next year, has sold over 45 million books, which have been translated into 33 different languages, and was given an OBE in 1998. He said: "Frankly, I would prefer it if people kept things cheerful, because I think there's time for at least a few more books yet."
