Prescription vending machine trials

16th August 2010

Automatic drug dispensing vending machines are being trialled in England to allow people to pick up their prescriptions more quickly.

In the first trial the machines are situated next to pharmacies in Sainsbury's stores in Sussex, while the second trial is due to go ahead later this year in hospitals. If the pilots are successful, then the vending machines may be introduced across the country.
