Private clinic closed

A private fertility clinic in Belfast has been temporarily closed following an inspection by the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA).

The Origin fertility Clinic failed to notify the authorities when a woman reacted adversely to treatment and as result has closed for two weeks to put proper systems in placed after the inspection highlighted a number of other faults including not updating patients’ records, including their test results.  Managing director Jenny Hall said the decision close to address some problems was taken after discussion with the regulators.
