Private screening costs the NHS dear11th April 2007
Ministers want a clampdown on private medical firms which offer unnecessary health screening to the 'worried well' Sir Muir Gray, programme director of the Government's National Screening Committee, told the GPs' magazine Pulse that the whole industry would face closer scrutiny and tough new regulations.
