Prostate cancer test faulty

4th November 2009

The MHRA has issued a warning about faulty self-testing kits for prostate cancer on sale in the UK.

It says two brands that have been available in pharmacies since December are involved and could result in some men being given the all clear when they actually have cancer. A thousand batches of Fortel's PSA test and Simplicity Health's prostate screening test are affected and experts say any man who has used either brand during this time should consider getting retested.
