QOF 'fails' heart patients

12th August 2008

Research has shown that the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) has not promoted healthier living or improved "quality of life for patients with CHD".

The information comes from a study of 903 patients with CHD (coronary heart disease) in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, from 48 practices. The Department of General Practice and Primary Care at Dunlee Health Centre in Belfast, who gathered the information, said the data should be used to contribute to the evolution of future policies.
