Rat found in Nottinghamshire hospital

7th November 2012

Pest controllers have been called in to King’s Mill Hospital in Mansfield after a rat was found in an operating theatre.

Some 40 operations were cancelled after it was discovered that the rat had entered the theatre at night when the room was not in use. Hospital bosses have apologised for the inconvenience caused to patients and said the hospital was now fully operational. After it became aware of the rat issues, the hospital took steps to thoroughly clean the area with external pest control experts working to eradicate the problem.
