'Remote nurse' helps patients at home

19th August 2008

A "remote" nursing system is being used to help patients in Cornwall by allowing them to keep track of their own health at home.

Around 1,400 patients are expected to participate in the scheme, which may be extended to other parts of the country if it performs well. People who take part in the scheme put their information into equipment which then transmits their data for analysis by community nurses.
