Remove failing IT systems

2nd May 2008

The Department of Health's IT head has called for the government to scrap the parts of the health service IT infrastructure which are not working well.

Matthew Swindells, who is leaving his post, spoke at the Healthcare Computing conference in Harrogate. He said: "We have the opportunity to drive forward the use of information to improve the quality of care. Be bold and build on what works, whilst being brave enough to get rid of what doesn’t."
