Research to help back pain

New research is looking at helping people with back pain stay in work.

Medical research charity the Arthritis Research Campaign has awarded three-year funding of almost £132,000 to occupational therapist Carol Coole from the University of Nottingham’s division of rehabilitation and ageing. The fellowship award will look to develop more effective ways in which the NHS can work with employees with back pain, and also their employers, to keep them in the workplace. Back pain is a major causes of absence from work in the UK.
