Residential care costs 'to double'

19th February 2008

According to research carried out by Saga, payment for residential care is set to double by 2028 in the UK.

The organisation estimated that the cost of paying for four years' care would rise from £112,312 to £223,476 by 2028. Andrew Goodsell, chief executive of Saga, said: "With the cost of funding care expected to consistently increase above inflation, it's critical that those already paying for care, or those planning for the future ensure they take advice from a fully qualified adviser."
