Rise in CT scans

Experts who have assessed the risks of radiation on health have found a sharp rise in the number of people having CT scans.

The number of scans on children has doubled in a decade. Children are the most at risk.

Radiation has been linked to cancer, however, the government-appointed Comare group have said the benefits of the scans outweigh the harms.
