Royal Berks staff redundancies

9th July 2009

Redundancy notices have been handed out to the entire electronic patient record team at Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.

The 26 staff have been told that their present roles no longer exist and they will have to apply for 19 one-year, fixed-term contracts, three of which are reserved for nurses. The Royal Berkshire broke away from the National Programme for IT in the NHS to do a deal with University of Pittsburgh Medical Centre, to implement a Cerner system.
