Royal Free deploy tablet devices

14th June 2012

Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is to replace its traditional computer on wheels trolleys used by nurses for their ward rounds with a set of mobile tablet devices to help it get the best out of its Cerner Millennium electronic health record.

However, the roll-out of the 26 Motion Computing tablet PCs, which are deployed across four wards, will be conducted with caution according to Will Smart, director of IM&T. The Microsoft Windows-based tablets will be used to input patient information into the EHR at the bedside.
