RUH shelves Millennium go-live

27th June 2008

The uncertainty created by the departure of Fujitsu from the NHS IT programme has forced the Royal United Hospital Bath NHS Trust to shelve its planned implementation of the new Cerner Millennium patient records system.

The trust was hoping to implement the system on July 12 but has now been put on hold after Fujitsu lost the contract as the local service provider for the South of England. Hundreds of staff had already being trained on a system that was also to be used by to nearby primary care trusts.
