Scots drop white coat

16th December 2008

The Scottish government has revealed a new dress code for NHS staff, which does not include white coats for doctors.

The RCN said it was in favour of the news, under which nurses will wear colour-coded uniforms.  Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon said: "I believe that having one uniform across the service which is readily identifiable should help both staff and patients to further ensure good communication and the delivery of care."
