Scots prescriptions £5

The Scottish government has dropped the price of NHS prescriptions from £6.85 to £5 as part of a £97 million programme to reduce prices.

The government aim to offer free prescriptions for the population by 2011. Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon said: "That this is all taking place less than a year after the new Scottish Government came to power underlines the fast pace of delivery and the fact that this is a government of action."
