Mayden and SignHealth are pleased to announce that they are working together to help improve healthcare for deaf people.
SignHealth is a leading charity which works with the deaf community, health services and other charities to ensure that deaf people receive equal access to the care that they need.
One of the projects that SignHealth runs is a specialised counselling service which provides psychological therapies for British Sign Language [BSL] users and deafblind people. They are also sponsoring a new Counselling diploma in BSL which will help increase the number of BSL Counsellors throughout the UK.
Mayden is the leading supplier of psychological therapy clinical systems in the UK with their product IAPTus being used in over 70 services nationwide. Mayden has teamed with SignHealth to create a version of IAPTus which is tailored to the specific needs of therapists working with deaf people. The system will be used to support their therapists across all of the services they provide including counselling, IAPT, day care, residential and women’s services.
Graham Trenwith, the IT manager for SignHealth, said: “We originally looked at IAPTus for supporting our new IAPT service but when we saw the software’s scope and versatility, we realised we could run all our patient management services on the one system. IAPTus’ ability to add further care pathways means that as we grow and expand the support we provide to Deaf people across the country, our patient management system will be able to grow with us.”
Chris May, Managing Director of Mayden commented “We are delighted to be working with SignHealth and its management team. In selecting IAPTus they really tested the system’s capability to provide what they needed and it was very encouraging for us that IAPTus was able to meet their requirements on every level. We are particularly pleased that Sign Health was able to spot the potential to use IAPTus in other areas. This will be a real test of IAPTus’ flexibility as we start to get familiar with the other services that SignHealth offer but we are looking forward to the challenge; working with SignHealth can only make our product even better. The work that SignHealth does to improve access to healthcare for deaf people is truly exemplary and we are glad that our experience in providing IAPT software is able to help them in their mission”.
Mayden are a software supplier who specialise in flexible cloud based solutions for managing patients across a range of disciplines, from psychological therapies to cardiac care. Our patient management system for psychological therapies (IAPTus) is the market leading solution and is being used by over 70 services nationwide.
