'Six in one' jab for toddlers

22nd November 2010

The government has said that young children will be given jabs to protect against six diseases.

Toddlers will be given three jabs for measles, rubella, mumps, pneumonia and two kinds of meningitis. Around 85% of toddlers are immunised in the UK. A Department of Health spokeswoman said: "Independent scientific research has shown that providing these vaccines at the same time is safe, effective and more convenient for parents."
