Smartcard hospital access at Trafford

12th September 2011

A healthcare trust has increased security by putting into use smartcard access to computers at hospitals at its three major sites.

Smartcards are in use at Trafford Healthcare NHS Trust after the trust worked with Imprivita to improve security. Director Stephen Parson said: "Because the whole thing has been tightened up, there is a patient benefit in terms of improved security and visibility of who everybody is. But more importantly, it has improved security around information governance."
