Smartnumbers comes to the UK

20th July 2010

Telecoms provider Orange has set up a new system, called Smartnumbers, in the UK which will allow patients to speak to the healthcare worker they require.

Michael Lawrence, head of corporate propositions at Orange, told E-Health Insider: "The patient can call the number, which may be set up for a number of areas such as midwifery or out of hours and expect to be put through to the right person. If that person is unavailable at that time the next appropriate person will automatically receive the call."
