Southwark MMR drive

5th February 2009

GP surgeries in London are using text messaging services to invite patients for MMR jabs and alert parents to a recent measles outbreak in schools.

The surgeries in Southwark Primary Care Trust are using iPlato text messaging for the initiative, which has been launched in response to concern about the rising number of measles cases reported in Britain over the past few months and to ensure that everybody under the age of 18 has received both doses of the MMR jab.
