Spine problems for trusts

NHS trusts in England had to turn off connections to the Personal Demographics Service following an upgrade which caused "intermittent problems".

The upgrade, known as Spine release 2008-A, was intended to update the service, which is at the heart of the NHS Care Records Service. An NHS Connecting for Health spokesperson said: "These problems were investigated by NHS CFH and BT, the supplier of the Spine service, and have now also been resolved.
