Sports fans targeted in sperm donation campaign

16th March 2010

The National Gamete Donation Trust is targeting sports players and fans in a bid to get more men to donate sperm.

The trust wants to raise the number of donors in the UK from 384 to around 500. Laura Witjens, chairwoman of the National Gamete Donation Trust, said: "In the UK there are hundreds of couples who need a sperm donor to help them conceive the child they long for so much, either because of infertility or genetic disease. These couples rely on men stepping forward as sperm donors."
