Staff may lose out on pensions

Amicus says "tens of thousands" of staff could lose their pay and pension benefits if they are moved to social enterprises outside the NHS.

The government has advocated the provision of health care services by social enterprises. In a new report, the union warned that enterprises outside the NHS meant that Agenda for Change pay conditions would not necessarily be relevant. Amicus said: “The goodwill and commitment of staff to ensuring users receive good quality services should not be taken advantage of to pay low wages and reduce costs by lowering terms and conditions, and cutting training and resources.?
