Sunday services

19th May 2006

Two PMS GPs from Spain, who have run a practice in Essex for the past year, have broken new ground by opening their surgery on Sundays. Dr Jose Maria Bajen and Dr Inigo Blasco work at the Rochford medical Practice. The service means that patients can attend Sunday surgeries between 9.30 and 11.30am.

The Practice manager said that the doctors do it because they want to benefit the public.
The practice receives no funding from Castle Point and Rochford PCT for the extra hours, nor is there any contractual obligation for them to work on Sunday.
