Surgery data stolen

24th July 2008

Patient information has been stolen from the Trinity Medical Centre in Littleborough, Greater Manchester.

Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Primary Care Trust (PCT) said data from 3,500 patients was taken on 12 July. Trevor Purt, PCT chief executive, said: "Following consultation with the IT system suppliers, we believe that it would be extremely difficult for anyone to access or use the data."
