Surrey Health Informatics Service closed

5th November 2008

Surrey Health Informatics Service has closed after it ceased operating on November 1.

Surrey Primary Care Trust, which hosted the organisation, said the decision followed a review last summer and came out of a desire to give more local ownership to IT programmes, particularly with the drive to foundation status by some of the acute trusts in the area. Surrey HIS supplied services to four acute trusts, a mental health trust and the PCT. Its staff have now been transferred to others trusts.
