SW hospital death figures published

10th March 2009

The National Patient Safety Agency has released figures which show the number of patients who died in hospitals in the south west because of accidents and errors.

The data, which was published for the first time, covered six months in 2008.  NPSA medical director Dr Kevin Cleary told BBC News: "It's important for trusts to know how they are comparing with other similar types of organisations."
