Test centre for non-EU doctors to move

27th August 2009

The GMC has announced that clinical knowledge testing for non-EU qualified doctors will be based in Manchester from next March.

A new assessment centre will be set up by the regulator in Manchester as part of moves to merge the functions of the Postgraduate Medical Education and Training Board with the GMC. It will carry out tests of clinical skills and knowledge of around 1,800 doctors a year who trained outside the EU but wish to register with the GMC and work in the UK.
