Testing centre for bowel cancer

31st August 2007

A new bowel screening centre for Scotland is expected to save thousands of lives through early diagnosis of the condition.

Scotland’s minister for public health Shona Robison has officially opened the Scottish Bowel Screening Centre, which is based in the King's Cross hospital, Dundee. The centre will carry out tests on samples sent by post from all over Scotland with every man and woman in the country aged between 50 and 74 being invited to be screened every two years.
