The healthiest fruit in the world hits the shops

28th August 2008

The aronia berry, which is said to be the healthiest fruit in the world, is soon to be made available in Britain’s shops for the first time.

A new superfood, it is said to have three times the level of antioxidants found in blueberries and is now to be sold in Marks & Spencer stores. The berry, which is similar in appearance to a cranberry, is native to North America but has been cultivated by the store’s suppliers in Scotland.
