Thousands of jobs to go at Glaxo

2nd February 2009

Drug manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline is rumoured to be on the verge of cutting over 6,000 jobs, according to newspaper reports.

The company employs more than 18,000 people in the UK and 100,000 worldwide. Reports suggest that some of the cuts could be made in Britain. However, a spokesman for the company said only that it "was in the middle of a restructuring programme".
