Three out of four go to work despite being ill

19th September 2008

A survey by AXA PPP Healthcare has found that three in four workers in the UK will attend work even if they felt ill enough to take a day off sick.

The company spoke to 2,000 people and discovered that over a six-month period, 50% of workers had not taken a sick day. The research showed 29% felt guilty about letting colleagues down and 24% said they had "too much work to do" to be able to stay home.
