Too busy to eat

4th February 2008

The Daily Mail reports that mature women are suffering from an eating disorder which has been termed "stressorexia".

Women who work long hours and experience high stress levels may stop consuming enough food and lose "dramatic" amounts of weight. Dr Adrian Lord, consultant psychiatrist at the Cygnet Hospital in Harrow, commented: "Stressorexia is not a scientific diagnosis that a doctor would make but anecdotally its symptoms are very prevalent among women."
