Top up payment row continues

2nd September 2008

The Scottish health minister Nicola Sturgeon will make a statement this week to clear up the Scottish National Party's position on top up payments.

The party is expected to announce that if a patient pays for care then they will not be able to use NHS treatments. Mike Richards, England's "cancer tsar", is in the process of looking at the "co-payments" and will make a statement in October.
