Trial by web for family GPs

14th October 2009

A new NHS website is giving patients the opportunity to rate their GP surgeries.

The website, where patients can post comments on such things as how easy it is to book an appointment or the treatment they received, is aimed at driving up standards across the 8,269 GP practices in England. With 23 million visits to GP practices and related services every month, health minister Mike O'Brien said the website was part of plans to help modernise the health service.

The website can be found at www.nhs.uk.
