Trust refused loan by government
31st October 2012The government has told Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust that it will not be getting a loan of £21m from the Department of Health to help pay off its debts.
The trust needs the financial help to deal with £18m of debt and running costs but the government said a loan of that size will put the organisation over its borrowing limit. It will, however, consider a revised application by Worcestershire to borrow £9m and has promised to make a decision in December.
