Twins diagnosed with cancer given all clear

29th June 2012

Identical twins who were both diagnosed with leukaemia within eight days of each other in September 2009, have been give the all-clear.

Megan and Grace Garwood are celebrating after both winning the battle against the condition, which has seen them undergo five blood transfusions each and intense chemotherapy which made them lose their hair. Their parents Emma Garwood, 41, and husband Mark, 38, from Rougham near Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk admitted they had been “on a high” since being told in February that their daughters were finally free of the disease.
