Twitter used by hospital

NHS Salford has been communicating with patients using Twitter as snow disrupted services across large parts of the country.

The trust’s press office used the social networking site to inform patients of the services on offer and advised patients with non-urgent appointments not to attempt to attend but to try to cancel the appointment themselves. An out of hours GP service operated as usual but with home visits limited by the extreme weather, Salford Community Health deployed a 4x4 to carry out essential home visits.
