'Two for one' medicines stopped

6th October 2006

Tesco’s multiple purchase offers on analgesic painkillers Resolve and Resolve Extra have been stopped by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) following a complaint from Boots.

Restrictions on pack sizes for analgesics were introduced by the government in 1998 to prevent people stockpiling medicines at home, reducing the potential for abuse or accidental poisoning.
