Two patients a day at polyclinics

25th April 2008

Primary Care Trust bosses have suggested that new polyclinics are set to treat as few as two patients a day in their first year.

In one area, Surrey PCT has indicated its new GP-led health centre at Spelthorne will have on average just 63 registered patient consultations a month from 900 registered patients in its first year. Elsewhere, polyclinics in North Somerset and Birmingham East and North are both expected to take five years to register just 2,500 patients while Calderdale is expected to have a list of 18,000 patients.
