Two-thirds of carers unaware of telehealth

3rd October 2012

A survey by the charity Carers UK as found that health and social care staff are failing to provide carers with adequate information about telehealth technology.

The charity questioned 4,200 and found that almost two-thirds (62%) were still unaware of telehealth technology in helping them care for their ill and disabled loved ones. It also revealed that many carers in the UK have either never been offered teleheath equipment (30%) or do not know how to access the technology themselves (25%).
