Unite to stage industrial action on Thursday

9th May 2012

A protest against changes to NHS pensions is set to go ahead on Thursday by up to 100,000 members of the union Unite.

The rally in London will see Unite health members join colleagues from the Public and Commercial Services Civil Service Union (PCS) at Central Hall, Westminster at 1pm as part of a day of action. The union says that its members are facing on average an extra £30-a-month to pay for their pensions. In its ballot, 94% of Unite members from the health sector voted to reject the government’s proposal on pensions.
