The arrest of up to six doctors in the current car bombs investigation thrusts the vetting of overseas doctors into the spotlight. Overseas doctors wanting to work in the UK face checks by the Home Office, the GMC and individual hospitals or trusts, including cirminal record checks and identity checks.
