Waiting time figures released

The Department of Health has published hospital waiting times in England for September 2008.

The figures showed that 42,900 patients waited for over 13 weeks for an inpatient appointment, increasing 5.3% since August but decreasing by 41% since September 2007. 60 people waited for more than 26 weeks for admission as an "inpatient out of a total of 557,000 on inpatient waiting lists".
