Wales pilot PACS integration

3rd June 2009

Informing Healthcare is planning a pilot for image sharing between picture archiving and communications systems across Wales.

The PACS integration project will involve finding a solution for sharing images between the six PACS systems in use from Fuji, Agfa, Insignia (Steria), Carestream and GE and Ferrania. Currently, say the Welsh IT agency, sharing images between different care settings has been difficult because of the different systems that are in place. The pilot will explore how image sharing can support cancer patients.
