Wales scrap NHS parking charges

3rd March 2008
The Welsh Assembly Government has said that staff and visitors can park for no cost at nearly all NHS hospitals in Wales by 2011.

The no-cost scheme will begin from 1 April, with the exception of parking which is already controlled by an external contract. Health Minister Edwina Hart said: "By the end of the current assembly term, the vast majority of NHS sites will have free parking for all."
